Yeah, for a kids show it’s a really dark series where pretty much no one is death-proof. I hear that part of it is that making new CGI models and having a lot of them active at once is easier said than done, which is why the arrival of a new character often means the exit of an old one. The same goes for Prime.

Well, it seems odd why almost all of the Maximals and the entire Predacon Army except for Waspinator died throughout the entire Beast Era. The only characters that survive the events of the Beast Era were Cheetor, Rattrap, Silverbolt, Blackarachnia, Nightscream, Botanica, Waspinator, and the two Vehicons Obsidian and Strika. Only 9 of the Beast Era characters survived the entire events of both Beast Wars cartoons.

Well, technically, the My Little Pony has a least number of deaths than the Transformers movie. The only deaths we saw in the My Little Pony movie are the Storm King, Brian, a hippo, a vulture, and a load of various Storm Creatures. Well, 10-28 of them if you pay close attention while watching the climax of the film. Also, I don’t know if any ponies/inhabitants were killed during the Storm King’s invasion/conquering of Equestria because everyone is saved and set free fro. The Storm King’s tyranny at the end of the film. Especially when Derpy and the first three alicorn princesses became the casualties during the Storm King’s attack on Canterlot. Since many lives lost during the battle of Autobot City in the Transformers movie. Speaking of Transformers. The Transformers movie killed off so many old characters both Autobot and Decepticon alike. The only deaths we saw in the Transformers movie are Brawn, Prowl, Ratchet, Ironhide, Windcharger, Wheeljack, Huffer, Mirage, Red Alert, Trailbreaker, Optimus Prime, Thundercracker, Skywarp, Shrapnel, Bombshell, Kickback, Starscream, Gears, an unknown number of Autobots present on both Moonbases, a Sweep, Cyclonus’ Armada, Arblus, Kranix, a load of Sharkticons, Ultra Magnus (revived by Wreck Gar and the Junkions), Shockwave, Reflector, Unicron, the entire Lithonian population, and an unknown number of Ctbertronians present in Autobot City, Cybertron, and both of its Moonbases. Yes, I did mentioned Huffer, Mirage, Red Alert, Trailbreaker, Gears, Cyclonus’ Armada, Shockwave, and Reflector because Huffer was mentioned to be killed offscreen during the events of the movie by Daniel Witwicky in Dark Awakening, Mirage, Red Alert, and Trailbreaker’s deaths were cut from the finished and not fully animated because that makes them died offscreen, Gears’ fate remains unknown but we can still assume that he’s still on Moonbase One and gets eaten by Unicron when he devours the Moonbase, Cyclonus’ Armada’s death was featured in the IDW Comic Adaptation of the film because it happened offscreen when the Dinobots, Perceptor, and the new Autobots are boarding the two shuttles, Shockwave was killed by Unicron offscreen because his death was cut in the final film but fully recovered in IDW Comic Adaptation of the film, and finally, Reflector was shown to be killed by Unicron when he attacked Cybertron in the same comic because his death happened offscreen during the events of the film. But the movie also nearly killed off Bumblebee, Jazz, Cliffjumper, and Spike Witwicky (because they’re saved by Daniel from being dipped into Unicron’s acid vat), the Conehead Seekers Dirge, Ramjet, and Thrust (because the jets seen being eaten by Unicron to death were various unnamed generic seekers that have color schemes and several modifications that reassembled the Conehead Seekers if you watch the movie in either slow motion or super slow motion), and Megatron (because he survived the jettison from Astrotrain and become the only Decepticon alive moving and met with Unicron because he said to Starscream, “I’m still function!”). Also, season three brought back both Starscream (because his toy was still active in 1986 and he returns as a ghost and revived by the head of Unicron) and Optimus Prime (because of fan back lash). Yes. The Transformers movie killed off so many old characters due to the discontinuation of most of the 1984 toy line and almost half of the 1985 toy line while some were still alive but still phased out from the cartoon after season two and the movie to make room for new characters that will become the main characters for the final two season of the cartoon.

Honestly, what matters isn’t so much the numbers, in my opinion, but the deaths themselves. They should be either brutal; see for movie examples Prowl, Ironhide, and Starscream, or dignified, see Optimus Prime or, for another Transformers example, Dinobot.

Run the Jewels once made a remix album with cat sounds called Meow the Jewels. (Yes, I know they’re hip-hop and not metal, but we’re still talking not-music-for-four-year-olds stuff.)

I don’t think a music group that isn’t so anti-fun you couldn’t pay them to do MLP stuff would be that hard to find.

I hate to be that guy, but prepare to be disappointed:

A) Rock music in general, and metal in particular, sadly hasn’t been particularly relevant since the mid-2000s, with few exceptions (such as Disturbed and Panic! at the Disco).
B) Even if it were, My Little Pony is a franchise for little girls, so Hasbro wouldn’t really be willing to give their biggest cash cow for that demographic a heavy metal theme song rendition, since metal is a stereotypically masculine genre of music.
C) Even if Hasbro were willing by some freak turn of fate, I’m almost certain most metal acts (barring well-known brony Andrew WK) would laugh in Hasbro’s face if asked to do a rendition of the MLP theme. You have to remember, in the public eye, FiM still hasn’t completely displaced the earlier MLP incarnations yet.

I’m sorry, man.

And Terrorsaur even had a shiny new Transmetal toy coming out at the time.

But with the Beast Wars era, I’ve heard that CGI models are hard and expensive to work with, so you can only have so many. Therefore, if Quickstrike and Silverbolt are coming, Terrorsaur and Scorponok are going! That’s why it kills characters left and right.

@Psyga315
The new crew: Trixie, Starlight, Maud, Coco, Thorax, and… uh… who’d be the sixth?

If there’s not a really fucking metal remix of the opening song like in the Transformers Movie I’m going to be very disappointed.

It wasn’t like they got epic heroic deaths. Aside from Optimus Prime, Star Trek redshirts get more dignified exits. Most of them had dying instantly from a single shot of anything or only ever being shown as a corpse being their only scene in the movie, old toys being disposed of like trash by Hasbro to make room for new product, though a few were lucky enough to survive to appear one or two more times as crowd filler. We’re not talking about anything REMOTELY like the deaths in the more recent TF series, or movies like Logan or Rogue One. This far from it, it has appeal just because it’s dark, but trust me, if all your favorite characters went out like that you’d never watch again. There’s a reason Hasbro’s never done it that way since.
