Well to be completely accurate while Gusty was a major character in My Little Pony 'n Freinds; basically, one of the like 5ish that you could call the "main characters", as there wasn't really any actual main pony characters in that show like say the Mane 6 are.

Gusty herself actually did very little in Return of Tambelon.
 
She only havingd one or two lines in the first part and appearing in the second with maybe one more short line IIRC. The actual main pony characters of that story were Ribbon, Galaxy, Forget Me Not and Lofty (or arguably North Star) They were the ones that did the most.
