I tried resisting commenting here… But it’s stronger than me.
 
First of all… Discord Likes Fluttershy. Second… People see the guy giving her flowers for an apology and people assume that they’re madly in love. People see this photo, where all I see is Discord saying something and Celestia looking back at him with no expression whatsoever in a cartoon that exaggerates facial expressions out of necessity, and they think that Celestia and Discord are likely meeting in the back room and doing things the cartoon can’t show. I would really like to meet such people in real life. It must be amusing.
 
Third: if Discord’s interested in Celestia it simply shows that he’s a smart individual and understands who is the best princess. Ask Lord of Chaos himself.
 
Fourth: considering the amount of wimps in the Royal Guard, Celestia could probably use a scoundrel like him.
 
Finally… I don’t like Dislestia. BUT…

Again, shippers will be shippers. Also, I never said they they were mean spirited about them. I like to think that they would be surprising sporty about them, so much that Twilight is convinced that Celestia is under a spell or something.

You don’t hook up with characters you enjoy throwing into a bus or feel neutral to them being abducted. You can have such a realtionship with distant friends or with prison inmates or co workers.
 
But the person you hook up with is someone most important to you. Not only as a friend to joke with but also the one who understand you most and you are ready to sacrifice yourself for. There is only one pony that Discord share such a bond.
