It’s especially funny considering Pinkiecorn became canon >>1580719 (merged) sort’ve thanks to the official IDW comic. There was surprisingly, very little drama over it, especially compared to the “Fluttercorn rumor drama” years ago.

It’s become a style of joke within the tag and Derpibooru community. The same as images of Pinkie Pie as an alicorn receiving the tag.  
It’s mostly a bit of fun with the term and the fandom’s reaction to Starlight.

Still not seeing how Reformed!Starlight getting wings is an XK-class apocalypse.
 
Maybe before she was reformed, but not after.

To be honest, I kinda saw it coming too. Especially, ‘cause Hasbro marketing doesn’t believe li’l girls like villains, and we gatta sell toys of her.  
(At least, they somewhat got over that with their “Guardians of Harmony” line.) Not bashing, but let’s face it, the show’s always been a bit toy-etic.
 
Though, I think the show runners invented Glimmer, not the toy line. (Seeing as the show rarely uses characters that originated from the toyline. Poor poor neglected Skyla.)

It’s also the season that gave us Griffonstone, and our first looks into western Equestria, in the form of the Pie Family Rock Farm, and that area south of Vanhoover and Tall Tale where the Hoofields and McColts live.

Why do people keep getting which season “Explore Equestria” happened wrong? SIX, not Five. Five’s theme was “Cutie Mark Magic”, which was why Starlight was introduced, and eventually the CMC finally acquired their cutie marks.

For all the folks publicly shitting on Starlight getting reformed:
 
I predicted it before we even knew her name, back when she was “Mayor Marks” and her power level of “NEARLY MATCHING PRINCESS TWILIGHT!!!” hadn’t been revealed.
 
I figured she’d get reformed at the end of the premiere. I was surprised to be wrong about that, but I didn’t immediately conclude she’d never be reformed. Speaking of, I knew it would be inevitable before even Tirek showed up.
 
When she escaped, I figured the whole “Explore Equestria” theme (which I’m sad to see get canned) would be about tracking her down before she can rebuild and try again. Instead, we got her making some screen cameos.
 
Meh.
 
Then the season finale happened. Boom. I was surprised to see the alternate timelines where a different villain won for offscreen reasons, and then Starlight got reformed.
 
Huh. Called it.
 
So yeah, figured it would happen, wasn’t surprised to be right…
 
…but not angry.
 
So kindly [FEATHER!] off. If anypony cares, then they’re wise, unlike you, in keeping it to themselves.

Everone has a breaking point, That might be mine. I just hope the movie is great so I can leave on a highnote If Starlicorn becomes a reality. I don’t think She’ll become an alicorn though, for various reasons.

I may sound like a crazy nutcase here, but i’d still watch the show if they turned Starlight into an alicorn. Even though i don’t really want that to happen…Yet…I’d still watch. I maybe a glutton for punishment or i’m too dedicated to the series to turn back. I wasn’t a fan of some things in S6 but i will say, there was more good than bad.

And yes, that theme of “Explore Equestria”: just like it doesn’t necessarily mean going to a new geographical location every episode, it could also mean exploring different cultures and creatures. Examples: learning more about dragon culture (5), discovering that Indian ponies exist (12), finally getting to see Las Pegasus (20), discovering a new race of creature (the tri-horned bunyip; 22), and finally getting to see the Wastelands and Queen Chrysalis’ Hive. (season finale).
 
So bottom line, best to take everything about this show with a grain of salt.

So he and I are in a similer boat then. Glimmer drives me up the wall as well and I had absolutely no problems till the end of season 5. But so much awesome stuff has happened as well, And so much more awesome is right around the corner. I couldn’t bring myself to hate on the show like that. Not when Trixie is getting so much screentime and the movie is about to hit.
 
The good massivley outweighs the bad.

Never really paid much attention to the toys but in my humble opinion a lot of season 5 (excluding the premiere and finale for obvious reasons) was just retreading the same old, safe and tired territory and never really got around to exploring too many new and interesting ideas. The season initially had so much potential and momentum too, it was a real damn shame.

Can’t hold say I disagree with the glimmer hate but why stick around if the show and the fandom don’t bring you even the slightest bit of happieness anymore?
