We are not tools.

They may not get as much screen time as the girls but I’ve never really felt the show had any anti-boy implications in it. It seems most of the fandom is where the idea comes from.  
Also for thunderlane in most fan fiction he for whatever reason is usually portrayed as either an abusive boyfriend or a rapist. Meanwhile his little brother is more used as an easy to manipulate sex toy.
 
If anything I could more picture for his part in the picture, him with his wings spread protectively in front of rumble with a big sign behind him that says “I’d never harm a mare unless she put those I love in harms way”.
