Description

from artist:”
Still very much a WIP, but I think she’s safe to post a progress photo of. Lots of pins, needs hemming and then the accents, but I think I’m happy with the base now. That train will need more bustling though or I’m gonna get stepped on a lot.

In case you’re wondering, I decided to use 1874 ballgowns as the inspiration for this adaptation. The gowns typically didn’t have a lot of disparate colors, so the bright yellow swags, became gold trim on the pleated swags of coordinated fabric. I’m much happier with that choice.”

The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

The armscye’s tight, the middy collar doesn’t go with the shawl lapel, the hems are clearly machine-stitched, the pleats are uneven, the fabric looks like toile, you used a backstitch here when it clearly called for a topstitch or maybe a traditional blanket stitch and the overdesign is reminiscent of pret-a-porter and not true French haute couture.
