The movies. I am totally talking about the movies. Glad we don’t have that problem here.

Not sure about the Sonic franchise, but the DBZ canon is pretty simple.
From most to least canon we have: Manga + DB Super (completely canon) > DB, DBZ and GT anime (only the parts that match with the manga are canon, as such, GT is considered non-canon by many) > DB movies (non-canon, though certain things are considered official, such as Bardock’s design) > Video Games (entirely non-canon).
I must’ve accidentally signed out when I posted this comment.
Okay, No argument, I guess.😊
As for myself, I’ll consider anything official and/or licensed canon to the extent the logic allows.
I’ve seen Sonic and DBZ fans EAT each other over arguments over continuity.
Two feats, a function of the party cannon which Pinkie didn’t use (she only used it for an instant party) and accidentally demolishing her house, which Pinkie not only said she thought it happened, but also wasn’t her fault.
Neither of these feats were utilized and could’ve been left out entirely without changing the course of the episode and were overall pointless.
Regardless, unless the writers make it perfectly clear which parts of the comic are canon and which aren’t, I’m taking the safe route and declare the show as the only canon source of information.
They used feats from the comics for Pinkie Pie.
Semi-canon. That means that, you can’t really count them, as it’s unsure which parts are canon and which aren’t, at which point it’s safer assume nothing in the comics is canon.
By the way, I’m aware Twilight isn’t able to Tap into that power by herself. I just pointed out she’s more than capable of learning.
She’s getting stronger, faster, braver, mature yet funny, and even taller each episode!
She’s turning into Goku!
Actually, I was just referring to the cards for a summary. I’ll give you that.
But the comics?! Of Course
they’re canon! Andy Price and Megan McCarthy themselves talked about the comics being semi-canon, meaning that the share the same universe, but don’t exactly intercross, kinda like “Finding Nemo” and “Monsters Inc”.
If it wasn’t Semi, then it would be official, but it’s only half official. (IDW and Hasbro) And even though it hasn’t been deconfirmed, there is too many references in between say “The comics don’t share the story”
Babs Seed sent a note with a pair of Scissors on it telling the CMC about her cutie mark.
Which she did not officially yet!
Then she appears in the background with scissors on her butt.
How do you think They got Dr Whooves in the show? Or how Sombra will never appear on screen?
The same thing happened with Megaman and Sonic the Hedgehog.
No, it’s just common knowledge that the show goes before the comics. Games and trading cards are never considered canon and the comics are non-canon until declared canon by either the show itself or the writers of the show. This is because the show is where it all stems from and is the prime source of canon material. The comics are non-canon spin-off stories.
You’re a Hasbrony.
Trading cards aren’t canon. Neither are the comics, actually. If it hasn’t happened in the show, it hasn’t happened.
Twilight is an expert on magic, but the power boosts she gained were from temporarily taking powers from the other princesses (which won’t happen in a one-on-one fight) and from some magical box that then turned into a castle.
Unless it’s either stated or shown in the show, Twilight is unable to tap into that power on her own, especially considering Death Battle puts two characters against eachother with neither of them knowing anything about the other and having to figure things out during the fight. Twilight would not have time to prepare, so she can’t just gather her friends OR the princesses for power boosts. In short, she has to rely solely on the magic she has and her physical abilities.
Yeah, you’re totally right about Hermonine, keeping in mind she still just a human.
Twilight herself shrugged an anivil, a fridge, and a piano, while already hurt from an accident WITHOUT magic. Of course it would be unfair, especially considering Twilight’s “wand” is attached to her forehead.
Also, considering the whole episode was practically Dragon Ball Z, I’m pretty sure Twilight can or could learn to tap into the Princess Power by herself, and learn to control it like actual Super Saiyan. Remember how weak Twilight was during Season 2?
“She may be the most magical unicorn in all of Equestria!”
-Official Enterplay Trading Card.
I don’t think Rainbow Power was a one time thing either. The REAL question is whether or not they can use it separately.
The show is already turning into DBZ anyway, so they might as well give it too Starlight, too.
Edited
We never said anything about a better opponent. I merely pointed out why “Twilight vs Hermione” would not work and Power-Up gave a similar example of a pretty unfair battle.
Also, it’s never been said that Twilight is immortal. She’s an Alicorn, sure, but that might just mean having a long life-span, as neither Luna nor Celestia were ever said to be immortal, they’ve just been around for a few thousand years. And that “super saiyan princess power” I’m pretty sure was only attained when she gained the powers of Celestia, Luna and Cadence and was unable to control it. And the Rainbow Power appears to have been a one-time thing as the only other time it appears was in a dream.

No Sailor Moon would be the best opponent.
Both are Magical Princesses of friendship. With SUPER FRUITY transformations, and excel in wizardry. There’s tons of similarities. The only difference is the moveset. While Sailor Moon lacks has heavy power, she has dozens of medium attacks. Most of which, could counter other spells as well increase as uses the love of her own friends.
Putting my Brony bias aside, though, I’d still say Twilight would win due to the sheer Endurance of the “Super Saiyan” princess power. Sailor Moon’s purity would probably counter most of Rainbow Power’s energy.
But if Twilight is allowed to tap into her immortal power by herself, She wins.
And let’s not forget what Luke Skywalker did to Harry Potter.
Wouldn’t be much of a fight, really. Even if they’re matched in spellpower (though Twilight obviously has a distinct advantage) and intelect, Twilight’s physical feats would most certainly be too much for Hermione to counter.
Could be Hermione. She’s probably the most versatile of Harry Potter. Not the strongest, but the one we’ve seen perform the biggest variety of spells efficiently.
It would be Twilight, but she’d have to fight another magical princess or brainy female magic user.
Rainbow had some serious indigestion after eating Starscream, so she was probably on the toilet.
Roigijabat
Rarity would fight
And that’s be the end of it.
