The pony feels a heavy sadness radiate from the mare. “Child, you may not remember because something terrible has happened to you. Those memories from before you came to this forsaken place may be painful.”
 
“I… I can’t…”
 
A heavy pit weighs down the filly’s heart as she tries again to remember. The only thing she seems to remember at the moment is pain and fear from before. “What was that thing that chased me? D-did it kill those ponies in the tower?”
 
“That wrenched thing is somewhat like me. You see, I search for lost foals and I bring them with me. I do not know what that creature does with the ones it collects but I bring those lost foals to my carnival, where they no longer have to endure the pain of the world.”
 
“C-can you help me? Please?”
 
The mare stays silent for a moment, “Unfortunately dear, I can only offer you asylum in my carnival. I will not force you to come with me. but… I must warn you, that I may never be able to find you again once I leave.
