When Ember visited Ponyville, her and Rarity started to fight over Spike. After a few days, Ember proposed that Rarity could fuse with her and they could both rule as the Dragon Lord with Spike as their consort. Rarity agreed and they both fused together to become a two-headed dragon.

Now that her and Ember became one, Rarity abandoned her pony life for a life as a dragon, and Spike courted and married both Ember and Rarity as his conjoined wife and mate.
