Really tough I’d have lees of a problem with Twilight becoming the “Third” Alicorn then just having Cadence dropped on us like that. Besides I can’t recall the actual Fainfic in question, but it had Twilight go all NMM/Pinkamena on everypony. Sadly I can’t recall what it was called though.

@ RandomFanguy You may be right. I can imagine Twilight being curious about what it would be like to be in the place of the princess, “Oh it can’t be that hard, can it”? So Celestia let’s her borrow the Sun for a day. Only to find out the painful reality.  
Or an episode where Celestai is out of commission and Twilight had to gather and rally unicorns all over Equestria to raise the Sun much like how Rainbow Dash rallied Pegasi ponies in Ponyville to bring water into Cloudsdale.

Well, there are tons of fanfics who did/do a great job of Twi becoming an alicorn and tons who do a poor to piss-poor job at it.  
Given how well the staff had handle things like suddenly getting Cadence which lead Twi to getting a cool big bro even straight stallions would get attracted to as well as an awesome princess babysitter.
 
IF we get a alicorn Twi, then i think it will be only temporary like a wing spell like she did for Rarity for example and then she wouldn´t really be an alicorn like Luna/Celestia (too small, no wavy hair, etc). So no need for rustled jimmies.^^

I dont think Miss Ivory-Tower-Main-Character-Powers needs to be an Alicorn. Unless they elevate the other Mane 6 similarly my jimmies will be rustled.
