Because of the way that the sound effects and gazes of her friends were going, Rainbow didn't crash from losing speed and then falling out of the sky, but rather crashed into the geound with most of her normal speed still propelling her. Remember thag Rainbow can change direction on a literal dime, so there's no need for her to accelerate downward to hit the ground at far greater than terminal velocity.
