Ponies in the show use their teeth to hammer in nails with hammers between them. Or to throw around haybales, pull hot air baloons, and other such things. I think it would work in-universe, though you are free to have a different opinion. Just, explaining my reasoning.

Ponies still don’t have strong enough teeth to pull a grenade pin.
Its actually worse for them since they lack incisors to hook the ring.
Instead they would just pull it all right along there teeth, leaving a nauseating feeling and probably lots of reason for dental work.
