There’s nothing wrong with a regular body pillow. Its intention is for you to use it as you would a regular pillow, but for your whole body. A daki, on the other hand, is a fetishized version. It’s got a very specific intention in mind.
The difference is in the artwork. If it’s drawn so the focus is on a single character in a manner to suggest the pillow is the character, especially if drawn lengthwise in relation to the pillow, then it’s a daki.
