Nah, GOH just denotes the kind of toyline.

Like how There’s not a movie called “Equestria girls: minis”, the minis part just denotes that its a special line of toys for the equestria girls movie.
Likewise, the guardians of harmony line on the “My little pony: the movie” thing just denotes this as being a more action themed toyline for the movie.

I don’t think Hasbro is going to count their chickens before they hatch. GOH would have to be pretty lucrative to warrant a movie theatrical or otherwise.

Hasbro could be planning to do a movie tie in with the GOH line in the future, and not necessarily have it be related to the first wave that was shown at Toy Fair.

I don’t think guardians of harmony has ANYTHING to do with the movies. Its like how the equestria girls minis toys are labeled as minis but the Equestria girls line is the actual series.
The GOH moniker just denotes that these are the ones with Weapons and armor and crap like that, like how “fan series” on the GOH toys denotes statuettes. We already had the MLP movie logo released a while ago and its simply “My little pony: the movie”

However, they had stated earlier this year that they were hoping that the GOH toyline did well because they saw alot of potential in GOH toys they could make with the villains from the movie.

We’ll see. We already know a decent amount about Guardians of Harmony. Whatever they’re showing at SDCC, it’ll probably be the biggest info for the movie we’ve gotten so far.

Perhaps all future MLP “action figures”, regardless if they are based of FiM, the Movie, or are their own thing will be branded with Guardians of Harmony. So far, the GoH toys revealed seem to not quite be based directly on FiM itself, while “Guardians of Harmony Fan Series” seems to be figures based on key moments in the show’s run (Nightmare Moon vs Celestia, Discord’s throne in Return of Harmony).

I’m thinking there might be movie merchandise under the Guardians of Harmony line, but that Guardians of Harmony may not be the basis for the movie. This is just speculation.

Maybe. I wouldn’t say it’s clear at this point, but there could be a connection. I know I wasn’t the only one who thought Guardians of Harmony could have some sort of movie connection.
