These kind of people don’t go to these kind of restaurant to eat, but for the ambient, the food is just the made up excuse to have a reason to sit for several hours at the same place. But since the food has to be there traditionally, it has to look good but also not distract from the rest. You can’t have a business meeting or a fancy romantic meetup if you stop midway to eat for half an hour.

I will never understand why people pay so much for something so tiny that it is not even consider a snack. They are more along the line of a small free sample. It’s stupid.

The episode probably would have had a more interesting conflict if Rarity actually liked the fancier food, while Pinkie like the spicy Indian food, and they worked together to combine the best aspects of both.
