“Starlight is a dangerous psychopath. Just because she’s calm now doesn’t mean anything.”
Your fanfiction about Starlight remaking cupcakes are not canon ,mate
Haven’t read that one yet, but I tend to count CMC misadventures as SoL. There is also the new arc ‘Ponies of Dark Water’ that I know nothing about. But somehow I doubt they started to make intelligent Adventure stories NOW.
RIP Heather Nuhfer’s good storytelling ;_;

Does the part where the CMC, Diamond, Silver, Snips and Snails get lost together count as adventure? I thought that was good as well.
Can’t think of an adventure one off the top of my head, unless you count the pirate one, which was still mostly silly but at least pretty good.
I still persist that NMR was the pinnacle of MLP Adventure from IDW.

To my understanding, Trixie genuinely did enjoy having Starlight as a friend, she only wanted to oneup twilight after she heard about the dinner and couldn’t help herself. And Trixie has been through a lot, to be fair. It would be kind of hard for her to know the do’s and dont’s of friendship considering she never had a friend before.
And its her personality! How Fluttershy is so shy, then Trixie is boastful.. Don’t say Trixie is evil please..
(Sorry for my english btw ^^; )
Twilight wasn’t present for this scene, and couldn’t hear Trixie say this.
Besides, even ignoring comics, Twilight was still being a hypocrite in the episode and mistrusted Trixie despite already thinking that Starlight deserves a second chance. If she had heard Trixie say this she might have acted differently, but she wasn’t there at the time so it is a moot point.
Starlight is a dangerous psychopath. Just because she’s calm now doesn’t mean anything. Why isn’t Twilight helping Trixie in her efforts to be a better pony? Because she doesn’t care. Double standards are magic.
Except she’s not behaving like a dangerous psychopath. She has turned away from her earlier villainy, and is trying to become a better pony, and Twilight’s helping her along.
I was talking about Starlight, she’s the dangerous psychopath who’s given special treatment over Trixie.
hate Trixie*
Because the town totally didn’t have Trixie before when her only crime was being boastful.
Comparing Trixie to Star and Twi are perfect examples of how the show values and treats the ponies.
Being kind is having compassion, empathy, and caring for others. Like offering Trixie friendship and support instead of being callous and bitter. Being naive means being oblivious to the consequences, lacking knowledge. Like forgiving and accepting a dangerous psychopath who nearly ruined the lives of many for her own selfish reasons. Forgiveness is earned when you do something like that. Small things I can see being let go if the person is genuinely sorry.
Dude, the season 5 finale plus this whole season were all double standards. Just imagine if Starlight was some Sombra/Chrysalis/Tirek style mutant freak, would she have been forgiven that easily?
True, I’m indifferent to Trixie. But that is one of the reasons why comparing her to Starlight both upsets me and is unfair to the character. Trixie, at the end of the day, is a decent person (her attitude drives me up a spiked wall, but she’s harmless regardless.) Starlight did everything she did out of her own free will. It was her decisions, her choices, and thus her actions.
Saying “Sorry” after I punched you doesn’t erase that punch from reality.
What “Sorry” is:
1- I acknowledge I made a mistake.
2- I’ll try to fix this one mistake as much as I can.
3- I’ll try not to make any mistakes in the future.
Such issue is sensitive because forgiveness and punishment falls into one’s own moral standards, and therefore different from one person to another. What I might see as nothing someone else might see as unforgivable, and vice versa. What do we do then?
The question in this case is: Where exactly do we draw the line? What’s the difference between kindness and naiveness? What makes one person kind and another one gullible? And if we force redemption on on someone like Starlight, then how are we any different from her?
I’m sorry for being so direct. It’s just that Starlight’s issue has been on mind for months. The (apparently apologetic) Fandom doesn’t seem to have answers, or want to answer me for that matter. And “No Second Prances” complicated things even further.
People are really bending over backwards to ignore Trixie’s flaws and Starlight’s good sides.
No, Trixie isn’t a villain. But she still in this episode tried to out-do Twilight to feed her ego, and she was willing to use her budding friendship with Starlight to get at Twilight. Those are not good things, you know, even if she was trying to improve her life and find friendship.
Starlight was a villain, no question about that. But she’s apparently sincere about trying to change, to start over and become a better pony. She’s stumbling a little, of course, but she’s getting better.
The same Trixie who was trying to improve her life, the one who apparently doesn’t deserve friendship, but Starlight does… Friendship is double standards.
You mean the same Trixie who got up in Twilight’s face and mutilated her silverware into a picture of herself to stroke her ego?
Please. The first thing Twilight did when Trixie showed up was tell Starlight to ditch her and find a new friend. Trixie was throwing together an apology tour, while Twilight was an obsessive jerk who didn’t care.
The episode also showed us Trixie couldn’t let go of needing to show up Twilight. She put her hoof in her mouth twice because that’s what was important to her. Yeah, she did regret it once the lie was revealed, but I don’t believe she was just a victim mistreated by horrible horrible Twilight. Trixie lied to Starlight, and it caught up with her shortly before the end. And then Twilight got Starlight to forgive Trixie anyway, but apparently people like to ignore that part.
