Everyone knows that yelling at Fluttershy or making her cry are major crimes. I’m pretty sure there was drama over that before too :o

What was Gilda ever doing here? All she ever was, was a jerk. Unless stealing an apple and yelling at Fluttershy qualify you as a major league villain, in which case Diamond Tiara still should have been here instead.

True, kidnapping and enslavement are quite villainous, but compared to the other three(Chrysalis who not only kidnaps but wants to enslave/feed upon a whole population), Nightmare Moon(who wants eternal night, usurp her sister and perhaps kill her) and Discord(who wants to fuck up everything), I think that the DDs are quite in the light weight category when it comes to villainy. They are just basic greedy assholes who kidnaps ponies to do their dirty work… and it indeed bite them in the ass.

One could also say that the diamond dogs are not really villains, but they’re really a big bunch of asshole’s all things considered.

Even back in S1, neither of them were really “villain” levels of antagonistic. They were just assholes.

If you say they are evil then where is sunset shimmer and starlight glimmer??

Some characters maybe, but Rover, Nightmare Moon, and Chrysalis clearly had reasons behind their actions that cannot be seen as misunderstanding of any kind.

Trixie: You think you can destroy The Elements of Disharmony just like that? Well, you’re wrong, because the spirits of The Elements of Disharmony are right here.  
Daydream Sun: What?  
Trixie: Chrysalis, who lied to me when I was in doubt, represents the spirit of… deception!  
Trixie: Nightmare Moon, who beat the manticore to within an inch of its life with her viciousness, represents the spirit of… cruelty!  
Trixie: Discord, who banished fear by relentlessly making fun of danger, represents the spirit of… mockery!  
Trixie: Rover, who crushed a sorrowful serpent’s spirit by tearing off his valuable scales and claiming them for himself, represents the spirit of… greed!  
Trixie: And Gilda, who led the Shadowbolts on before stabbing them in the back, represents the spirit of… betrayal!

I like how the ones who aren’t outright villains look as if they are trying their darndest to be intimidating
