You raise a good point there. If I over thinking this, I could predict the episode as being the spectacle of Rainbow crashing, being humiliated, and her friends spending the last half of the episode making her feel better, with the climax being “oh yeah, I can remember how to fly after all, thanks guys!”
It can’t be that simple, surely? I’ll be disappointed if it is, though on the other hand dealing with the aftermath of being built up/building oneself up only to be hammered back down again is a powerful subject to address, much as I think the subject matter of Fluttershy’s brother’s episode may have a few people reflect on their own lives - myself included.
Buuuut, while I generally trust in the show staff to produce a good story regardless, I’m personally wondering whether there’s a subplot to this, in that Rainbow is somehow sabotaged, and while one half of her friends try to console her, the others try to expose the culprit (Lightning Dust, anyone? Used as an example of how not to deal with disappointment?) and the climax is that the Wonderbolts give her a second chance, but that only works after she has learnt to give herself a second chance.
Nah, that plot’s probably far too similar to Rarity Investigates… never mind then…
I’m glad I’m not the only one who watches UFP.
Please explain.
Yeah.
I’d be interested in how things pan out with the Wonderdouches this time around.
Will they be learning the same lesson yet again?
Yeah, they tried to stop zilla spike in that episode and FAILED.

You’d be wise to continue to reserve judgement until it airs. As if anything with this much character-driven momentum could be halted in just one episode, much less by a simple synopsis, in a show with a professional crew pouring their own lifeblood into its creation.
Dash’ll feel the burn of it being her turn as an episode’s protagonist, but then the problems will get resolved and her situation will be all the brighter for it.
This episode should be fun, plus it’ll probably be our first real look into the social dynamics of an inner-circle of Equestria - something most of us have been craving since the first season.
Don’t you always haze the newbie? Granted, most of the time they’re unproven but promising rookies, and Dash is hardly unproven.
It all culminates in an episode where she embarrasses herself and is ridiculed by her heroes and now-peers? This is almost as bad as the payoff for the Equestria Games mini-arc.
Skintight suits apparently aren’t the most practical gear. But hey, it makes them look badass.
