Actually, real psychologists are typically against the idea of trigger warnings. People need to learn to deal with things because they do come up in real life. Sheltering against it only makes it worse for a few reasons. They never learn to deal with it and/or accept it, and on top of that, it's very much similar in some way to how compulsions form; by reacting to a mental impulse, it validates it and reinforces the neural pathways making it stronger and more likely to happen in the future.
Not to mention, trigger warnings don't even really help in the short term, because it's like, "This picture has a pink elephant - don't click it or you'll think of pink elephants!"
