The thing that I (and everyone who was present) remembers most about the drive home after I finally got glasses was me going ‘wait, you mean you can actually, like, see the individual leaves on trees from a distance? They’re not just big green smudges?’
Oh i f***ing feel ya
Edited because: Grammer error
I like to describe my sight by likening back to Mark 8:24 “I see men as trees walking.”
My glasses can slip to the end of my nose but the arms fit too well around my ears to actually fall off. Plus when you wear them literally all the time you tend to develop a physical tic of pushing them back up.
The things that hook over your ears are colloquially known as “arms”. For some reason. When in doubt, the long extendy-parts of various mechanical items are probably arms. Especially if you pull them to operate a thing.
Also my glasses just do not know how to stay on my face properly and that is a problem when you’re practically blind without them.
Ohh yeah, of course, I actually do have an alternate pair of plastic ones without the nose pieces also, haven’t worn them much at all (though I do like how they look) but yeah, this is somewhat relatable lol, I remember it happening a bit when I looked down too.

My current favorite style of glasses [Thick, dark rims] don’t have any of those rubbery nose pieces. So my first pair slid off EXTREMELY easily. [as in, I got used to holding a finger to my glasses to keep them from falling off when looking down.]
The kind I have now are slightly tighter on the head at the ear-attachy part. [I’ve had glasses for over 20 years, I should really learn what these parts are called~] So hardly slide at all, and yet, are thick enough that they don’t leave marks on my head~
I have a pretty good pair of reactive lensed ones that never really move honestly, even out in very windy conditions and such, got them a couple of months ago, super happy with them!
But yeah, I do get marks on my nose after wearing them for ages, that’s just practically unavoidable I think, but there may be exceptions.
They’re either so tight you leave marks on your face. Or they’re slippin and sliding all over the place~
