I didn’t say it would make it unlikely, just that it would take massive effort and time!
Well, many things need a lot of programming, that alone wouldn’t render it unlikely.
The hardware is the bigger problem, I’m sure that’s expensive, maybe too expensive for the team here.
Especially if they want to massproduce them and actually take orders once they are ready.
Then again, once they have reached that point there will probably also be a lot more people willing to donate.
I hope it works out.
Well, she could be as intelligent as a 3-5 year old kid, but that would need a considerably more powerful hardware, which is the only limiting factor aside from the complexity of the actual AI program she’s running. It would need a metric shit-ton of programming though!
I’m really hoping for a full-fledged AI so that she can interact with you, give coherent answers on your questions, act independently (giving you hugs, ect.) and even actively asking you to do things with her, like, playing a certain game or something and that she has a fully developed personality.
But I’m not sure if technology is already advanced enough for that to be possible.
I wonder what kind of AI it will have, i really hope it won’t be just a “walking simulator”

“B-Baby….. A-l-i-c-o-r-n….. Do I have a mommy too?”
Well, the moving part would have two components, the actual walking, which he kinda made, and then there is the environmental awareness part, e.g. avoid obstacles (needs distance sensor), follow a white line/recognize objects (needs camera), play certain audio phrases when encountering a QR code etc. This stuff has already been done and the code is already available on the internet, it just needs to be adapted. Thing is that processing must be done on the computer and commands are sent wirelessly, but that’s good, it will keep the HW costs lower.
The main problem (and the most costly) as I see it is the servomotors, the model in the picture uses 24 of them (that’s $960 worth of servomotors). And those are cheap servomotors, that’s how much cheap servomotors cost. The faster/higher quality ones they’re going to use in the next model are going to add up to even more. For now, this is going to be the biggest challenge, come up with a design that useless less motors and moves faster, at least that’s what I think is happening. Keep in mind that I’m just assuming based on the stuff I read on patreon.
initiating sweetie derelle sequence
They’d need way more patreon donations for small upgrades like that. I think the more important parts would be sensory equipments for reading the environment around her, torque sensors for the feet, so it can feel if she’s not walking on even terrain, smoother and faster drives. By the looks of it, she’s driven by a Strawberry Pi. A better SBC would give her more power for actually process the data she gathers. Stuff like that. Man, if I wasn’t a poor dick, I’d actually support them. I couldn’t even help with the software since I’m an electronics technician, not a programmer.
Edited
If I can see it right, that’s only a 2 channel scope. I’m working with a 4 channel one, but that is quite similar to this one, maybe it’s from the same line.
