One way to find out that the Chinese used in the dialogue is Taiwanese is the simple characters used at the end of the sentence, such as ㄟ (ei).

Characters like these were used in the Republic of China to help people pronounce Chinese characters, like how Pinyin (Latin characters in Chinese, q-x-z-zh-j-c-ch spellings) is used in the Mainland and elsewhere.

e.g. 這主意很糟ㄟ! (Zhe zhuyi hen zao ei![full](/That was a bad idea))

By the way, Pinkie and Rainbow look like punks, but with them speaking in Chinese, they look more manga-like.
