I could picture Twilight being an Arch or Linux from Scratch kind of mare as well. I could really picture her using any distro except maybe mint.
Twilight isn’t that kind of Linux user. She’s more of a Linus Torvalds than a Richard Stallman.

I could see Rarity with a computer. She runs a high-end clothing business, probably needs all kinds of spreadsheets and the like, to say nothing of prototyping her dresses in a 3D imaging program.

Does Dashie look like the type of character who cares about slight OS optimisations? Someone who wants to go fast won’t spend hours to save a few CPU cycles.

Eh, Macs suck, but they tend to be stylish and I doubt Rarity would use a computer for things that were heavy duty. Probably just browsing the internet and business type things.
I think a Mac would be fine for her because of what she would probably use it for, even if it is inferior to the rest here
