My internet is doing its annual “mysteriously stop working from January 1st until the first monday of the year” thing, and i’m using a improvised cell phone connection (which can only handle about 10 minutes of Derpi browsing before i have to pay for more bandwidth) right now, so i can’t fix the tagging right now, but i’ll do it when my connection allows it.

So it seems the Wikia went with placeholder naming this pony as “Warm Front”, which apparently was one of his earlier fan-given/placeholder names.
 
Not sure what forum thread to suggest this in (I only know of implications and aliases, but I guess OP being a site assistant was the one who fixed the rose/flower trio implication stuff I brought up a month ago, ayy) but the current Sunburst tag can have a little added detailed information added to it to redirect people looking/tagging for the background pegasus to the new [warm front](/tags/warm+front) tag (and maybe some information in the new one mentioning the old name).

Honestly I’ve done worse; rose used to have over 600 entries, and periodically I check and retag because flower trio still implies it incorrectly even after I wrote on the respective forum posts to get it removed. But if you guys are all okay with this tag the retagging could start.
 
But a mod/site assistant would need to add descriptions to both tags so people are referred accordingly. This pony doesn’t exactly have another commonly-used name or even a toy/CCG name.

Right. With different G1/G4 incarnations, you could always specify or exclude using the G1 tag when searching, but this guy, not so much (even though there were never as many images to sift through).
 
Since the canonically-named unicorn would take precedence, the pegasus (as much as I like him) may as well have the separate sunburst (pegasus) tag.

I don’t know if we really need extra tags. G4 Moondancer and Night Glider are completely different from their G1 counterparts , but they still share the same tag.

So the earlier two “Sunbursts” aren’t really the real official G4 Sunbursts. The little unicorn colt is the real deal?

Well, to explain, the first Sunburst was a G1 pony that was briefly headcanonned as Fluttershy’s father by some back in 2011-2012.
 
This Sunburst (the second) is a background pegasus that doesn’t have a official name and might or not have been fan-named Sunburst because of his superficial similarities with the G1 pony.
 
And we know who the 3rd Sunburst is.

I say either we change this guy’s name or have a “Sunburst” tag that distinguishes unicorn Sunburst from this guy.
