Well, this whole episode was just a short history of Lady Gaga’s career. She started out as a raw talent (The Stephanie Germanotta phase), became an outrageous pop superstar (Lady Gaga), and has now returned to something more toned down and authentic (Her current Jazz phase).

Electricity is not high tech. Do you even know the era electricity was harnessed in? Sounds like you’re just sore someone badmouthed the cartoon you like. The problem is the ponies suddenly having airports, flat-screen TV’s and computers in later episodes.

cant say I do. its always been random with tech despite its setting(I think that’s the right word). then again this could mean that certain sectors of pony tech have been having large booms in tech advances that its been more common place for them.

Remember when the technology levels of FiM was supposed to be Steam-Engine Tier at most? Random modern Human technology is very shoddy writing indeed. It’s easier to write outside the original confines of the setting, you see, hence the shoddiness, the writer/s do it because it’s easier to write about concepts more relatable, rather than keeping the writing within what the confines of the setting originally imposed. A skilled and imaginative writer can work with what they are given, rather than simply throwing it out the window and doing what is easiest.
 
As a comparison, imagine a Sci-Fi setting, a good writer would write interesting, imaginative and genuinely “Alien” extra-terrestrials, with strange cultures and aesthetics quite different from ours. A very poor writer, however, would make all aliens just Humans with cultures that are just mirroring Earth cultures and borrowing our aesthetics. The Adventures of Rick & Morty bounces between these two, actually, sometimes you get actual Alien settings, others you get Earth 2.0.
