If it's time you're interested in, I'd argue General Relativity is where it's at, not Quantum.

Afaik that theory doesn't have a lot of solid grounding and is based on String Theory, which is, itself, rather speculative. I'd say if you're a fan of the idea of a multiverse, then "Eternal Inflation":https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eternal_inflation is probably your best bet.
I super duper highly recommend Brian Greene's _The Hidden Reality_. Greene explains it surprisingly deep and well without getting into all the math, and goes over like 7 or so versions of a multiverse that current theories predict may exist. Amazing book, and Brian Greene (through his books) is probably the single person that made me decide to switch from engineering to physics, lol.
