Also, flying all the way through Tubular without the p-balloon or Blue Yoshi is a true mark of mastery.
Yea, I’d think you would just have to use the cape to fly underneath it. The Cape in SMW is a lot better at maintaining horizontal lift than the other flying powerups, so you can’t really have too many issues with this.
Yoshi isn’t necessary, just the cape only and careful flying will get you through. That’s how I did it.
Yea, I just find it to be really adorable. I still love Nintendo’s design, but ADHD’s design I have to admire for a more minimalistic approach, which I think just makes it cuter.
I don’t like it, I’m used to Yoshi’s current design, I think this one looks like something from Lego Duplo, but it’s ok if you like it.

I have downloaded Super Mario World for the WiiU sometime ago and performed the same tactic that you mentioned. It never once crossed my mind to use Yoshi as a easier method.

It’s actually possible to get underneithe the goal, (and reach the hidden alternate goal post that leads to Soda Lake) using the cape, but it’s much more difficult to pull off.

There was another instance in star world 5 if you wanted to get everywhere without activating the switch palaces.
