Question is, do the EoH require equal portions of the three tribes? The EoH were not used again after the Alicornication Incident. So, we do not know whether it requires a balanced tribal ratio.

i’d say the cmc are self sufficients. (maybe not whatever gen 5 main material, but definitly spinoff worthy)  
their CM each bear something related to the owner race, so the balance is quite good.(also, i think that lessen the chance of alicornification)  
on another note, i get the feeling that “equality” to anyone else is lost when theses tree have so much in common cutie-mark wise. they may be good friends with anypony, but they’re not likely to share a cutie-mark with them.

The Core 7 back in G3–G3.5 was 5 earth ponies, 1 unicorn and 1 pegasus.  
Before the Core 7 in G3, and back to Tales, you only had earth ponies as the mane cast.

Well, since Applebloom is the defacto leader of their group, she’ll probably become an alicorn at some point, lowering the Earth Pony population somewhat.
