I heard he was given the offer of a lump sum of case or royalties over time when CD first offered to license his story.
 
He chose poorly, and have been pissed about it since.

he does seem to have some grounds here, since the law where he’s from has a rule that allows him to demand more if the money he got was disproportionate to how much the license made,

i’m indifferent, i have no interest in slogging through so much of the series to finally play as this Ciri for what seems to be one DLC, so the franchise holds 0 value to me and i will not care if/when it dies,

Thing is nobody knew the games would blow up like they did. Far as he knew the lump sum was his best option.
 
But from some other things he’s said on the matter he’s still a dick.

Also, CDPR offered to pay him royalties, he said no, and he sold the entire rights to him. His loss if you ask me.  
By the way you can’t play as Ciri at all afaik.

Your loss. And fat chance. Given how pro-consumer CDPR is and the success of the Witcher series, and GoG, not happening any time soon. They’re putting the series on hold for now, though.  
But yeah, sure the author has Polish law on his side but that doesn’t mean he’s right.

For all we know those are disgruntled employees who exaggerate work conditions and were fired for legitimate reasons.

Can you give me proof? from what I’ve heard, people in the gaming industries have noticeably less protection, to the point where AAA employees where angry at voice actors wanting basic protection elsewhere since they didn’t get that themselves.

All we have is alleged accounts from ex-employees.

Although for one thing, most of the people speaking out are on glassdoor accounts which should be taken with a grain of salt. And another, Poland has very different working conditions compared to other countries.

Jesus, every post you make lowers my opinion on you at an exponential rate.

I got Fallout 4 GOTY, tried to play it, but apparently I need to use a code to access the DLC, which I can use because it was used before. I’m kind of pissed.

I didn’t enjoy the Witcher 3 that much. I loved almost everything about it, the quest, the exploration, the storytelling and pretty much everything involving the world. I just couldn’t really get into the combat. It felt way too boring and repetitive for a game that amazing to just play. Every fight was just, slash, dodge, shield rune, repeat, even on the hardest difficulty.

Damn that sucks, definitely go back to the retailer and get a refund. They aren’t required to have bonus pre-order dlc, but if you buy the ultimate edition of a game the actual additional content is required to be included, even if used. They should give you a code.
