I think she’s very similar. She’s still controlling, impulsive, highly immature, not really in control of her emotions, a master of bad plans and prone to either sulking or getting angry when called out. She’s simply got better at these things over a period of time, and acquired virtues to counter them.
Still they’re all very clear as recently as ‘Road to Friendship’.

I just realized that Starlight’s personality before/after redemption are very fucking different
With most redeemed villains, they at least act somewhat in line with their previous personalities, meanwhile starlight… not so much
Then again, we only ever saw Starlight from an outsiders perspective the whole time she was a villain so that could explain it but still

Everytime I see the term “Body Snatcher Story”, I always interpret it in the literal sense. Like, some outside force like a demon controls someone’s body and pretends to be them, while the others remain clueless while the actual soul of the person is trapped inside trying to get out.

To be fair, she accepts counter arguments with minimal protest after her reformation. She just has a bad habit of not questioning herself, or inviting the opinions of others.
“I guess when you put it like that, it does sound pretty bad” is more or less her catchphrase.

I remember reading a comment that it might be implied Starlight might have Autism, or whatever the pony equivalent is. I doubt Hasbro would ever confirm one way or another though, and I think that’d be fitting as I doubt mental health is all that well-studied in Equestria.
