I don’t think that’s why EQG exists, I know it’s not. A reason for popularity, sure. Funny how people hated it at first and found it unattractive. Now it’s like the opposite. Not nearly enough boy love tho.

Really no surprise people are mostly doing lesbian ships and art if there are no interesting male characters. Pairing any of the girls with the guys existing feels like a big waste, haha. As for gay ships, sort of the same probably. No interesting characters, no art :shrug:

Both. Also I don’t think it’s quite fair to say that there’s ‘no interesting characters’ as that’s fully subjective, and design alone can be enough for some people. (looking at all those popular BG ponies that never did anything for years except exist)
 
I mean I love seeing any and all fanart of this guy despite him just being a background character.  

 
Preferences and character are subjective. I mean, I personally love Flash Sentry and have zero issue with Timber Spruce, and I find Zephyr Breeze great. I just prefer guys and boys and I find it sad when people just say “oh well they all suck *proceeds to talk about female character with like five seconds of screentime like she’s the best thing ever*.
