Kaye hasn’t done anything in Vancouver in almost a decade. He’s obviously done with that stuff, and I highly doubt the show’s casting director would look anywhere outside of Vancouver unless they wanted a major name of some sort.
 
The fact that you people only give a damn about Canadian actors if they’re in Hollywood never fails to piss me off.

They were able to get De Lancie, Lena Hall, Weird Al, and Rachel Bloom, and they’re not Canadian.

Or have Canadian citizenship, AFAIK.

-Lauren Faust explicitly modeled Discord after Q and they were originally going to settle for a voice impression off the bat until they actually tried reaching out to the real deal.  
-Yankovic has been a household name in music for decades. His celebrity is well-established.  
-Hall and Bloom have played major leading Broadway and live-action television roles respectively, and Patton Oswalt is a fairly well-known comic and actor in the live-action realm. Their status outside of voice-acting trumps Canadian citizenship.  
-And I know full-well he’s Canadian, but the only reason LaMarche could get on the show at all in spite of being L.A.-based and not a celebrity is because he was a personal friend of executive producer Nicole Dubuc and he just happened to be within Vancouver at the time. It was an extremely lucky circumstance that has little if any chance of happening again.

I also recall hearing that Daniel Ingram used to be in Weird Al’s band, which also apparently helped getting him on the show.
 
William Shatner’s Canadian too.

Are Doug Parker and Colin Murdoch still in the VA business? They do some pretty good villain voices.

Parker mostly does voice-directing these days. Most recently he’s done Legends of Chima and Llama Llama.
 
And yes, Murdock is still very much in voice-acting. In fact, aside from Svengallop, he was most recently one of Celestia’s acting coaches in the show.

People can wish for whatever voice actor they would like on the show - this is a wish list thread.
 
If you want to argue about licensing and union rules, or studio contracts and non-compete clauses, please do it somewhere else - we don’t need “reality police” here.

No official confirmation, but seeing as the first short “Rarity’s biggest fan” was up last week, and a new short was released today, it would seem they are bringing as a new short every Tuesday.
