Tag dictionary

To be honest I don’t think we need the description THAT long when it comes to non-administrative tags.

I noticed another dictionary entry that could do with rewording. otp is currently written up as —
 

 
Sage advice! Tags are not opinion! But it’s still a bad description. A dictionary entry should say what the tag means. Can we say that “OTP” is an acronym for One True Pairing (cn: TV Tropes link), and that using it may or may not be entirely unironic?
 
Do we even need to mention the otp template memes? The tag seems more useful for terrible OTP art and sly digs at overinvested shippers to me. But hay.
 
(The implications are outdated and wrong now too, but I’m asking for those to be fixed in the other thread.)

I’ve been working in retail for too long when I see “OTP” and think “Old Time Pottery” instead.

(We probably do need to mention the otp exploitable meme. It has been a thing, and my filters were hiding its true extent.)

I see it and think one-time pad, and I blame my (geek, not spook!) job for that too. I always defer to folks working in retail though. Out of respect for the shit they have to put up with. Deal with the public and needing to treat them as customers… *shudder*

I believe that we should put anything involving Super Danganronpa 2 under one generalized tag that also has different spellings of its title attached to it as “implied” however that works. Like for instance, you could label it as super dangan ronpa 2, and yet have some sort of implied thing as super danganronpa 2. Are my words making sense, or are they just too confusing?

Everything related to that crossover is already under one generalized tag; dangan ronpa
 
Different spellings of the name because of the translation of it does not make the images uniquely different - they’re all a part of the same crossover, no matter whose spelling of the name you think is correct.

I’m fully aware of that, but what about the tags for the sequels of Danganronpa?

They’re all from the series “Danganronpa”, right? And they are all “Crossover”, yes?
 
Maybe I just don’t understand the granularity that you are asking for.
 
From what you’ve said and what others have said and from what I can see looking up the series on the internet, it sounds like there is great contention within your particular fandom as to what the “correct” spellings of the talents of the characters are, and of the names for the subsequent series.
 
But we don’t do that here. We don’t differentiate between different translations of talents or of the nitty gritty details of the series that are crossovers.
 
For example, if this were Sailor Moon, then “Sailor Moon” + “Crossover” works fine.
 
We don’t differentiate between “Sailor Moon” and “Sailor Moon R”.
