Is there a way I can follow a particular user’s uploads? I tried adding uploader_id:212786 to my tags to watch in settings, but the change didn’t stick.

“tags to watch” is only for tags. you can add complex queries like this in the textbox below (“Watch list search string”)

Not that you do have to hit “Save my Settings” at the bottom for it to stick.
It worked! Thank you.
Server-side normalization of smart quotes and apostrophes into their plain ASCII variants. This should apply to both search queries and tag creation.
Otherwise, fixing overzealous autocorrections for phone folks would require setting up tag aliases.

There should be a block section for people putting unnecessary tags and doing it consistently on other people’s posts

Also should be a delete button for mess up comments

For searching, though, yeah, that could be added.

Celestia bless Elixir’s pipe. Would there be any notable penalty to add the clean_tag_name function to the search query pipeline?

There should be a change color function for typing. Also a word like they do on E621

There is a detailed syntax and style guide for typing here, and you can make text underlined simply by selecting it and clicking the “U” button in the UI.

I always forget if here or the Philomena bug tracker is better for feature requests
Show SHA hash (and tag cloud?) in the JSON response for deleted images
Why?
So that deleted images have a second identifying factor in addition to the Derpibooru ID whenever I get around to writing something to sync upvotes & faves between Philomena boorus (which will be well after the AI art removal).
While Tantabus will have [and some Ponybooru images currently have] a URL linking back to the original Derpibooru page (containing the image ID) that can be searched, using such a tool outside of a direct Derpi-to-Tantabus (or Ponybooru) transfer is greatly hampered without the SHA hashes.
The tag cloud is to be consistent with what website visitors see when they visit the URL for a deleted image.
Example
Note the lack of SHA hash or tags in the response.
API Doc clarification
Please add some mention that 56027 is the ID to the Everything filter in the table explaining the
filter_id
parameter.Any way to search for comments, posts, or image descriptions by character length? Would be useful for finding untagged stories in the comments, or for finding stories by specific authors.

Rule/policy update proposal: if an artist has a DNP Artist Upload Only rule, they should be required to be non-anonymous when posting them. As it is, whenever I see a BP upload art that’s DNP Artist Upload Only, I have to be like “maybe this is DNP violation maybe not” in the report and (potentially) waste moderators’ time. It’s rare that it’s the case, but occasionally it is.
@Background Pony #0F89
I don’t think any rule change is needed. Although this does rarely happen, most often due to an accidental click on the anonymous button, we can usually fix it pretty quickly by asking the artist to remember to upload publicly so we can enforce their DNP properly.

If that’s happened recently, please report the image and I’ll talk to the artist if they are the uploader.
And it’s not a waste of our time.

I did; Mildgyth PM’d me after closing the report to say it was the artist, don’t know if they also communicated with the artist.
It was 4 uploads in a row, months apart.

Thank you, I’ll talk to the artist.

A feature to edit own messages in DM/Message Center just like comments and threads. That’s it.
@Shade Partisan
Edit … messages? You mean you want to be able to change what you wrote to someone else in the past?

I can see it having a decent usecase for fixing typos or broken links or whatnot.

I’m not sure that there’s any site or service out there that allows editing PMs, though; it’s generally treated like emails, “double check before hitting Send, no take backs”…

Discord allows editing PMs. Like you, I’m not completely sure it’s a good idea.
@Ciaran
Yeah, sometimes I did typos in dms and unable to fix that

Some messaging services allow that. I think Signal does, perhaps Skype too. Facebook (Messenger) doesn’t AFAIK. Outlook allows retracting emails as long as the recipient also uses Microsoft’s email server with that feature (so people in the same company, for example) and didn’t read the message yet.
