Feature suggestions and discussion [READ THE FIRST POST]

Should the comments be divided into three sections of those that up vote, did not vote, or down vote? I feel for posters and viewers that it could organize stances and give a better idea of those that support the post, do not support it, or just against it when they comment. It could better manage the kind of feelings you care to expose yourself to in general or at the moment, over everything being mixed together. It also can provide a faster way to understand those that took the time to comment if they are more organized based on their alignment, given that the feelings would be more organized to hit the point home more. Anyway, I feel this can give more freedom to what you wish expose yourself to when it comes to comments and make it easier to view where people stand.

Never happening, sorry

I want ability to hide (or at least prevent notifications from their comments/posts on subscriptions) users for reasons of personal annoyance that is not against the rules, in particular, regular comments on images new and old with generic “wish it were me” praise.

This is fucking madness.
 
The icon bar is back to normal without those giant gaps but now the download button is defaulted without tags. I organize my pictures by tags and now not only is the button not in it’s normal place so I keep accidentally clicking the wrong things but now I’m download the short filename version by mistake as well because the long version is no longer default. Now I have to memorize where the download button is, hover over, and do an extra click to get the download I want instead of just having two fucking buttons like before.
 
What was so bad about having two different download buttons? Why are these design choices always one step forward and two steps back?

This whole week got me frustrated a lot. I liked the design before, Derpibooru had the best site design ever and probably still has. But this whole week was arguing and trying to decide on changes that have been necessary only because of that new update.  
This is an important website for a lot of people. You should understand that we care for the site, because it matters to us.  
I believe there are enough reasons for people to be frustrated, and those feelings should be acknowledged.

Flash is insecure and easily exploited. It is only available as part of licenses for nonfree software. Finally, we can’t thumbnail flash files.

Are there any reasons besides security that make it unlikely for MP4 files to be supported on this site? Also, How about APNG files?

APNG files are already supported.
 
We generate MP4 files out of uploaded WebM videos for supporting older clients, but eventually we would like to see all clients support WebM, the free format. MP4 is a proprietary format.

APNG is supported, but depends entirely on your browser’s ability to render it.
 
As for mp4, just convert to webm. This isn’t a video hosting site, but at least webm pretends to not just be video, and we’re not seeing go beyond that.

I’ve used Hewbo Video Converter to convert my own animated videos from .mp4 to .webm with complete success each time. The free version has no limitations other than the occasional “Would you like to upgrade to pro” screen :D

I believe you, honest I do, but Hewbo was the first one I found that I could figure out how to use. Like, I have NO idea how to combine “ffnutmeg” with a “net framework” and a bunch of files with extensions I’ve never heard of and somehow get a webm out of it. Hewbo’s like “run it, choose file, click convert, make espresso while you wait” XD

People with a lot of badges it pushes the resolution and file size down… I guess it looks okay…. but.. example: >>1691453
 
if it was aligned with the “uploaded” and moved sliiiiiightly to the left I think it’d personally look better
