There isn’t much consensus (and ergo consistency) among users unfortunately, [character tag]+older is what most people tag when theí see a filly with a cutie mark (even if she is not visibly older in the pic other than that.  
I have used [character tag]+cutie mark in the past but since that tag is also used for free floating cutie marks on accessories, badges etc. it is non ideal.
 
If we had a tag I’d suggest not to make it CMC exclusive since there are tons of characters (dinky, babs, even ponified Spike) who this can apply to.

I’d been using (older OR adult OR cutie mark OR future) to search for candidates. It’s more thorough, but still turns up a lot of false positives; images featuring other ponies’ cutie marks, images where cutie marks are discussed (>>612384 (explicit), >>645988), images where characters are older but still blank flanks, and images tagged “older” just so someone doesn’t have to admit that it’s foalcon.

“Future cutie mark”? “Non-canon/speculative cutie mark”? “Blank flank no more”? Or we could use “post-crusade” and just clarify in the description that it’s not CMC-exclusive.

Alright, I went through heart attack,cute (ie, about 700 of the originally 1000 pictures) and removed it where it didn’t belong. Still leaves some pics, but at least the easy bulk is done. I can probably do the same for hnnng if it’s wanted.

That seems about right. Still there a few heart attack pics without the cute tag that should be checked.

For the sake of curiosity, what exactly is emofuri? I mean, I can recognize it, but it seems to be one of those tags that would benefit from having a definition attached to it.

Emofuri is a piece of software. It’s used to animate photoshop layers, usually to make animations for dating sims. It’s entirely in Japanese.

Yesterday as I and WingbeatPony were retagging the ass and plot tag I noticed two things about the impossibly large ass tag.  
First many of them are plots, not asses.  
Second, many of them show the plot/ass not directly, but are either from the front or side. So that you can’t really see the butt, but it is indicated of the size of the character that it has to be huge.  
Examples: >>687113, >>698260, >>663040
 
So should we make a new tag impossibly large plots? Change the name to impossibly large butts?  
And should the others where you don’t see the plot/ass directly just delete it and change it to the impossibly wide hips tag?

Actually, I’m okay with tags like that being universal (along with tags like plot pile, plot rest, plot pair, dat ass, and so on) because the distinction should really be made with the tags intended for that purpose, that is, plot and ass.

Other topic. I am at the moment retagging pictures with the skinny tag. Since we are using the chubby and fat tag so frequently, I thought it would be fitting. It just had about 50 pictures, now it has over 800. I just wanted to ask if it is ok what I am doing, or if am overdoing it, since I use a rather loose definition of the term for it.

How exactly is purple smart distinct from twilight sparkle?

Appears to be for images of Twilight being a bit odd and pictures that actually refer to her as Purplesmart. It’s also applied to a few normal Twilight pictures, though, for reasons that are unclear.

Also requesting that the extra tags on >>350309 never be removed. They work far too well. I would request the removal of “fluttershy” to complete the joke, but going by the tag history TSP has made up his mind pretty solidly on that one.

Came up on a pic recently:  
accessory swap+**[character tag]**, what to tag if the character the accessory belongs to is not in the picture?
 
(Way way back I created the “trixie’s hat” and the “applejack’s hat” for this exact same purpose, because those two items seemed the most common. I never was 100% happy with doing it like that though (or especially the “trixie’s cape” tag I also made).  
I think there are a bunch of “clothes” “hat” or simply untagged pics that are accessory swaps of this type too.
 
IMHO it would be fair to tag the character who is the accessory’s owner, because in a sense they ARE in the picture, through their clothing. It is also the only way how the majority of these could even be searched for.
 
Case in point, example:
 
Twilight wearing Ash Ketchum’s hat:  

 
AJ with Luna wings and crown:  

 
It seems obvious that Ash Ketchum or Luna would be tagged, even though they are not IN the picture, right?
 
Oh, you could argue that some of these are “cosplays” but who says a character wearing another’s clothes does not fall under “cosplay” in this sense too then?
 
My argument is ultimately a practical one: how else are you supposed to search for these objects, if not by the character they belong to?
 
Would love to see more input/consensus on this. :)

I feel that since Lunadoodle is a Tumblr, that it should be marked as such. Such as with at tag that reads “blog:lunadoodle” or “tumblr:lunadoodle.” We do similar things with comics and OCs, so it may be time that we give blog tags a similar treatment.

We currently use the ask or ask blog tag along with the tumblr’s name.  
But of course, Lunadoodle is not strictly speaking an Ask…
 
I wouldn’t bother with it. It can’t be put in a category. Coming from Tumblr is not revelant enough; we don’t tag “deviantart:xxxxx” either. Doesn’t mean they can’t be tagged “tumblr” too of course.

As vree said, if you want a tag, ask or ask blog or tumblr should be enough - after all, what would we do with OOC posts from an ask tumblr if we had no other artist tag?  
Another option that’s not tag related is to search by image source; there should be instructions on that on the search page.

Anyway, problem with the Hum Drum tag. You guys seem to have it spelled “Humdrum”, which is wrong according to canon. Canonically, there’s a space in the middle.

What’s your source on this? According to the MLP wiki, they spell it “Humdrum” consistently.

I don’t get your…“meaning”. But the tag still needs fixed. Or an accurate one needs added, or however it’s done.

Owlowiscious’s name was originally Owloysius, the character commonly referred to as (and even tagged as) Big Macintosh is officially named Big McIntosh, and Princess Cadance’s name is spelled with an A in canon despite her full name, Mi Amore Cadenza, being spelled with an E. My point was that there are a lot of technical inaccuracies or inconsistencies overlooked here and it’s often easier to just alias a tag to the most common spelling of it or use that as the listed spelling rather than panicking about it not being done right.
