Um…. Metroid Prime might not be the best place to start. I suggest starting with Zero Mission or Fusion, and then play Super Metroid to get the experience of what defines Metroid, and then play the first Metroid Prime.
Of all the companies that could’ve produced Metroid Prime 4, I personally would’ve gone with Platinum Games. Not just because of their good track record (both in general and in regards to collaborating with Nintendo), but also because they actually have some experience with shooter games (even if Metroid Prime is a completely different game than Vanquish).

Namco isn’t a slouch company either, and as I said, Kensuke Tanabe is Producing the game, who worked on the original trilogy, which will likely include other old members of Retro, so I have faith in the game.
