I just got my best holiday gift so far. A 1:64 model of the world’s fastest car.

Went to get a haircut, then to a restaurant to eat, then walked barefoot around my local park to relax with my flip flop in my hands until finally, I left my sandals to the side and entered a vape shop barefooted just to browse. The store clerk didn’t care as we talked about the different pens and models and what they did. A customer came in and definitely noticed and she pointed out my lack of shoes and I just laughed it off. I left without buying anything, I’m glad I got to do some barefooting again.

Sounds like a great Boxing Day, and certainly a good alternative to the shopping frenzy many people would expect on this kind of day.

Although not many restaurants are open on this day, I was able to go out and have a nice sushi platter for lunch, wearing a Queen (the band) t-shirt on an unusually (but pleasantly) mild day. It felt like a mix of December and spring!

Your barefooting venture was definitely a good post-Christmas activity. Good on you for just laughing off the one person who pointed out your bare feet, and not letting a scene be made of it.

I 100% relate to this at this time of the year. 🥶

I was talking to the clerk about one of the products helping with anxiety, and the customer said “Dude, not wearing shoes gives you anxiety”. I looked down at my feet and just laughed it off and said “No, I just like walking barefoot cause it feels nice”

Yeah I don’t know where she got that idea from, but I just brushed it off anyway. If the clerk didn’t have a problem with it, then that was okay with me. Floor felt nice too under my soles.

Well, I know that if I walked barefoot out there, I’d have one heck of an anxiety of people judging me and looking at me weirdly and thinking badly of me, even if I liked it. I know because I have severe anxiety and the mere thought makes me cringe… I can’t even think about using long socks for fear of being prejudiced.

I guess you’re impervious to that kinda thing. Good for you since you can enjoy what you’d like without repercussions… or well, without worrying at the very least. And if you aren’t hurting anybody, then…
