Well his “emergency 25% tariffs” didn’t seem to last long becuase apparently the President of Columbia just reversed his decision upon hearing Trump would launch tariff’s and is now letting the illegals be deported back to Columbia.

Is this just gonna be Trump’s strategy for the next 4 years? Constantly bully and threaten to tariff other countires until he gets his way?

This shit sounds like it would screw over MAGA Voters massively as well if not outright more than Leftists and Liberals.

Buffoons who barley know how economics work would likely have 0 idea where they keep their birth certificate, (if it hasn’t been lost), and would be unable to vote more than Left Leaning folks who are more likely to keep tabs on documents.

Columbia has announced they are tariffing America.

Still not even a week in and we already have a trade war.

I don’t want to assume tariffs on goods from Colombia of all places are meaningless, so could someone remind us what sort of things in our everyday lives might be affected by this particular trade war? If tariffs are such a bad idea in today’s economy, I think we should be keeping tabs on why prices of certain things are rising just because our president is a trade warmonger.

Everything that has a computer chip in it, from computers to cars and refrigerators. Everything is grown or brewed in a different country from blueberries to vegetables to beer. Gas, car parts, furniture, wood, anything made with wood, steel (the US is the largest importer of steel), crude oil, basically if it’s made or uses parts or material from Canada, Mexico, or China then it’s going to be affected the most by what Trump has promised and threatened to do.

Mexico, China and Canada are where about 40% of all imports for the US come from. To the tune of something a little shy of $1.2 Trillion in imports in 2024.

But doesn’t worry, all the taxes raised from the tariffs will go straight into the Federal government’s coffers. So you’ll be paying higher prices for things you need to get to work or eat or keep your house repaired for whatever good that money in the Fed’s coffers will represents. I’m guessing tax breaks for the 1% again?

So, basically exactly what the Republicans promised to do.

But, don’t worry. They were elected because 49.8% of voting Americans believe this will make America “great again”. So let’s see what their version of a great America looks like. Maybe it will be interesting.
