I also think sexism might be another reason. The people who voted for Trump or chose to not vote at all didn’t seem to be comfortable with the idea of a female leading a country. Democrats probably would’ve won if Tim Walz was the presidential candidate.

A little over half of America voted for a vile criminal who ran on a campaign of hatred, lies, revenge, and petty egotism. They voted for a candidate who threatened violence against his political opponents, promised mass deportations, and calls the press an enemy. The only logical conclusion is that they agree with him and like what he says. I want nothing to do with the half of America that supports a fascist.

Right now, short of an unlikely act of God that’d leave both Trump and Vance dead before the handover in January (and I have no idea what would happen in that particular case), there’s virtually no way the ballots’ decision won’t be enforced.
