So, um… Anyone else worried that by the time that they reach retirement age, Social Security will be insolvent? That’s something I’m worried about.

It’s what I’m planning on. Theoretically I could be living on my own and buying my own food, but I’m still living with parents while working full time so I can have lots of savings to live off of after retirement.

It’s also one Harris REALLY needs to focus on since it’s such a simple thing. If you remove the tax cap and make it the same for everyone then it will never be insolvent. Many welfare programs are complex and have complex solutions but social security is one of the few that can be solved instantly and has a super simple solution.

Don’t try to game the system. Unless you’re part of the top 1% you’re not going to win.

He’s a narcistist manchild who wants to do whatever he wants without any pushback. Even at Tesla it was known he would surround himself with yes-men and would explode on anyone who criticized him in any way.

He did with Twitter what he did with Tesla. Make himself unchallengable and an emperor and run it as his personal paradise.
Unlike with most I don’t think Musk was just nodding along with Trump. Trump and Musk are very much alike on a lot of levels so they agree on most including that workers are scum who exist to serve them and nothing more.

Also he does have moderation on Twitter. Anything he agrees with is boosted and anything he disagrees with is suppressed if not outright banned. It’s an environment where he can say whatever he wants and only ever receive praise for it. A place where he can fancy himself the hyper intelligent hero he thinks he is without anyone telling him otherwise.
Musk really is the modern equivalent of a gilded age robber baron taking over a town and ruling it as a mini dictatorship.

It was a really weird guy who is a good man at some times but completely deranged in others. His political beliefs are also a weird mix of left and right viewpoints. He’s a fierce anti-vaxer but also fiercely supportive of Ukraine and Taiwan. He voted for Nikkey and Vivek (yes, he tried to cast 2 votes) and voted for Trump in 2016. He also is a massive supporter of gun rights yet also is a massive supporter of the homeless and wants housing to be a right.
He also has an extensive criminal record including assault, robbery and a standoff with police.

MAGA propagandist Nick Sortor tracked and harassed Maggie Vespa of MSNBC in Springfield, Ohio yesterday. The sound engineer told Sortor repeatedly to back up while Vespa was walking away.

Tim Pool was on the payroll though it was done via a middleman so we don’t know if he knowingly took it or if he just accepts money without asking any questions.

“Knowingly” is a common question when it comes to professional idiots like Pool, yes.

I know. At that time western imperialism and white Christian supremacy was still accepted in the mainstream so they could go a little more extreme. Though really it’s what they want to go back to.
