It’s cheap and effective “viral” marketing. The majority of people that don’t like it for the actual message will just think it’s a waste, a tiny majority will rant about it on twitter/facebook/whatnot, HuffPo/CNN/TYT will make a huge deal out of those few and run pieces ala “this latest ad supporting women has the conservatives furious!”, people will repost the articles and meme about it for a few days, and ultimately people will start buying Gillette just to spite all those damn angry conservatives, even if it costs double the other (clearly not socially conscious!) brand.
 
“Gillette” doesn’t give a damn, they’re just brazenly monetizing emotion (good, but primarily bad) the same way it used to be (more) popular to monetize sex. It’s fairly disgusting, and very effective.

Providing healthcare is not a valid function of government. Healthcare is a commodity, a product, that corporations are supposed to be competing to provide the best version of.

Not all private industry does. Healthcare should be a right. In the US, if you need stitches, that’ll cost you $70.  
Got shot in the leg in a robbery? Oops, you’re bankrupt now. Our healthcare system is the worst out of any first world country, it needs to change. End of. Canada doesn’t have private healthcare and people are better there for it.

Healthcare is not a right. It’s a product like anything else. Smartphones are not a right. Internet access is not a right. You don’t have the right to demand healthcare services. Even food, water, are not rights, you pay for both of those things, because they are products and services provided to you by someone else. No products you can buy are rights.
 
Healthcare is going to be even shittier if you don’t allow any competition. Socialized healthcare sucks. If you want decent healthcare in Canada, you have to pay.
