I am especially impressed by the original character designers for having created characters that are recognizable from any angle.

Both the dub and orginal anime are available on DvD now, and most of the sub can be found on YouTube.

I didn’t grow up with it,but I was aware of it. I didn’t see it until I was well into my teens.

Nice. I think my inner weeaboo would go with the original Japanese version with subs.

I wasn’t aware of this anime till I heard people talking about it in my teens as well. Also, Princess Vi is hotter than Polly. :3

Do note that the sub and dub are legitimately different shows. That’s not even a joke, the plot, jokes, and character personalities are almost 100% different. The dub is basically a joke dub because the OG anime is filled with a lot of Japanese culture references and jokes that western audiences wouldn’t fully get.
 
So, it’s best to watch both for the full experience.

I know. I’ve watched a review by one of the members of Team FourStar about the difference between both versions. I’m just not sure if I have enough tolerance for possible cringe from the dub.

You know what you’re in for the moment you hear the dude singing the intro doing his best drunken Fred Schneider impression.
