Cooking thread

I made baked buffalo wings because frying is too messy. I don't feel I missed anything by not frying the wings. They're delicious — better than wings from a local chain of wing restaurants and much cheaper too. The sauce I made was simply 1 part butter to 2 parts Louisiana hot sauce.

Oh, that looks delicious. I love baking chicken. I usually do that with Barbeque Chicken but it can turn out well with other seasonings too.

Occasionally I'll bake a whole chicken but I prefer to cook chicken on the grill, weather permitting. I make barbecued chicken drumsticks by washing and drying the meat, rubbing it with oil, salt, and Lawry's, then grilling the chicken and basting on barbecue sauce a few minutes before it's done.

That sounds nice. I like baking the entire chicken and using the leftover chicken breast to make cream of chicken pasta.

Cream of chicken pasta? You mean like Campbell's soup?

Yeah, kinda. That's what we use to season the chicken and the pasta while cooking it. But alternatively, I sometimes use regular chicken stock or chicken broth to flavor it.

I don't usually like any Campbell's soup but tomato. Something about them tastes off to me, but their cream soups are good for cooking. I make potato gratin with cream of mushroom.

I don't really care for their soups either (I prefer home made soups). But sometimes using them to help flavor the foods you're cooking is really nice.

What if:
Sugar cookies but with brown sugar instead white?

Just made roast beef with veggies.

Brown sugar tastes better than white sugar in my opinion so I think this could work out pretty well. Speaking of, two days ago I baked a sliced apple and sprinkled cinnamon and brown sugar on top of the slices before baking them. They came out great and the kitchen smelled really nice afterward.

Potatoes, matchstick carrots, half a red onion, and mushrooms.

It's really good. I also use a rub of salt, pepper, cumin, paprika, and white pepper for the meat. Poke some holes, crush some garlic and stuff it in.

Sugar cookies but with brown sugar instead white?

Recipe I used:
1 cup Granulated Sugar
1 cup Powdered Sugar
1 cup Margarine, softened
1 cup Vegetable Oil
2 Eggs
4 1/2 cups Flour
1 teaspoon Cream of Tartar
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1/2 teaspoon Almond Extract

Beat together sugars, margarine and oil. Add eggs and beat well. Sift together flour, cream of tartar,baking soda, and salt. Add dry ingredients to egg mixture with vanilla and almond extract. Drop onto ungreased baking she, press down with a fork dipped in sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.

The brown sugar cookies are sturdier than granulated sugar which break in half when you bite into them.
