Unpopular opinion time (super alpha no pony edition)

When I listened to it and sang it during middle school I was always thinking how weird it was we were singing about cheating during Christmas.

I have been annoyed by Christmas music for a long time. It’s especially obnoxious when I start hearing it in November. It’s not even your month, dammit! There’s still another holiday before Christmas!

There are a few Christmas songs I still love, though. For some examples, both of Weird Al’s Christmas songs kick ass, and I love Greg Lake’s “I Believe in Father Christmas.”

I like the simplicity of “we eat, drink and go to sleep early” if only Thanksgiving didn’t start racist.

Halloween is cool but without irl friends, middle aged people like me are just eating junk and watching horror movies. Well that sounds pretty cool actually.

Christmas is annoying because it pretends to be about morals performatively, but got appropriated into the biggest consumer event of the year.

Not entirely. I didn’t care that he wasn’t a fan of Nickelback because despite the hatedom dying down, they are still looked down upon as a band and while I never hated them, I also don’t think they’re the best band in the world. I did take issue with him proclaiming himself a “proud hater” as if it’s some badge when in my opinion, having a hatred for something like that sounds stupid when there are other things to hate about. That’s like proclaiming yourself a proud hater of Scrappy Doo, it’s like okay? You want a blue ribbon? I thought the review overall was fine, I wish he delved deeper into the music.

I agree 100%, I never liked that song at all and unlike other Christmas songs where despite their overplay do have something good in the music, I never got why this one endures as a “classic”.

No I mean the start of Thanksgiving itself involved racism, or atleast prejudice, some miss handling of a large amount of people.

Racism is old as dirt.

I still celebrate Thanksgiving, it’s just a feast holiday now. One holiday I’m glad lost some of its meaning.

I do got something less complicated on my mind.

I don’t get people who think YouTube Premium is a waste of money.

It’s no ads on the world’s most popular content sight for 15$/m

When I’m working and trying to draw the ad distracts me for longer than the ads actual run time. Two minute ad, but now I forgot what I was doing when trying to skip past it.

And the arduous political ads, and ads about government programs I’m not eligible for.

I also sleep to YouTube.

Yes, but YouTube has a major hate-boner for ad-blockers now.

I used to have a vitriolic hatred for Kimba because of how people kept saying Lion King ripped it off. I always knew it was fake in my heart years before YMS did his video. And when his video did expose the truth I felt so much satisfaction.

But now, I kind of feel bad for Kimba. Now its basically a laughingstock and will never be able to get out of the reputation this dumb theory caused.

Do people even like Kimba? And more so, especially after the ripoff theory got debunked?

I guess Kimbas cute and him trying to learn leadership is nice to see.

Why would you hate the one that’s being ripped off.

I don’t think anyone actually hates Kimba because hating on Disney is way more fun. It’s like Disney has such a long history of shady things everyone would immediately jump to believe they’d tottally rip off something from Japan too. I mean, they already ripped off all the fairytales more than once already. It wouldn’t surprise anyone.

The only Kimba thing I watched was the 1997 movie and I did think it was like a different version of Lion King because it has one big lion and one small lion on the box art, but when I watched the actual movie and saw humans I immediately disconnected any association of Lion King it didn’t have.

I use youtube more hours than most people work in a week. It doesn’t matter how immoral you think they are under the hood. Boycott means not using it period, skimming their electric bill just gives them a reason to be shittier to everyone else.

It’s 15$ a month. I can blow that in a day on steak and wine, and then be fumbling with adblockers and getting malware.

That’s not good. Holy shit really? They don’t really have the right to destroy someones property for skimming. If I get one piece of malware pulling up on my screen i’m throwing my entire computer in the trash, and suing for the full value plus emotional damages.

Why aren’t people liking it? I see a lot of Youtube thumbnails calling the movie not good and a disappointment for such an important milestone.

Main reasons I’m seeing is that the movie is too bland/simple, and it doesn’t really feel very “big” despite this celebrating a very big milestone

I can sorta get what people might find it yo be as good as Disney’s other films, but I feel like the people acting like it’s the worst thing Disney ever made are really overreacting

Sounds to me like movies such as Puss N Boots The Last Wish and the Spider-Verse series has set a very very high standard towards animated movies now and critics are using that as a gauge for movie quality now
