Aside from Capcom, Microsoft, Konami, Bandai Namco, Sony, EA and Activision, does any other game company have their own Mario?

And aside from Paramount/Nickelodeon, Warner Bros., NBCUniversal (let alone DreamWorks and Illumination), does any other studio have their own mascot or princess?

Whether they do or not, they’re not the same.

They don’t care about you one bit, only your money. Saying hurtful things about a corpo is not going to cause them to go bankrupt. You have to learn to criticize the things you love when they do bad shit.

When have we said something that was false? If a business can only make money off of nostalgia and fanboys, it deserves to fail and have more confident people take its place. Criticism is needed for things to improve, and corporations don’t want to improve, just exploit you for all your money.

Exactly. Imagine saying that you can’t call out Blizzard’s horrendous work culture because they made Warcraft and Starcraft. Imagine refusal to hold Bethesda accountable for their treatment on employees during the creation of Fallout 76 because they made Skyrim and Morrowind before than. Imagine ignoring Nintendo’s treatment of contact workers due to enjoying Mario and Pokemon too much.

I mean, I don’t think it’s possible that a company can live with hate, even if companies care only about money. (Which I think people hate money because of companies doing bad decisions)

So you refuse to change and improve yourself. Maybe you worship these corporations because you refuse to have things change, even when change is needed. You fear change, even though change is already happening.

And corporations thrive on hate. They are too big for the hatred to negatively effect them. And you should be very critical when money is their only goal. We have see the disgusting practices in the video game industry of money above customer and employee. Do not enable abuse or gambling to minors.

And no one who isn’t an idiot hates money. What they hate is what people will do for money. Some abuses their fanbases, some sell gambling to addicts, some abduct people to sell their bodies, some over-price medicine needed to save lives, it goes on. Money isn’t the issue, it’s the people who are.

I’ve written entire, multipage diatribes against Gamesworkshop and Blizzard.

And I’ll continue to do so till they change course or I run out of things to say.

Hollowfox, the posts you are making are the exact type of blind worship that convinces companies that they never have to improve or change, and don’t even have to try, which allows them to become stagnant, content with putting little effort into products because people will buy them anyway. And that is not something to be proud of.

No, but it does not do the amount of damage you think it does. You give online haters and trolls way too much credit. They don’t have the power you think they do. They weren’t the ones who brought down 4Kids (which, yes, actually did suck) and they can’t defeat big corporations, so you don’t need to defend those corps because typically, if they did mess up enough that they lost business, they have to have really messed up and likely deserved whatever fate they get.

And also, you’re lumping people giving regular criticism in with haters and trolls. That’s not good. That’s, like, the level I’d see in some of my YouTube comments. Quit it.

Also licensing. Licensing can be a bitch when it comes to content on streaming and television. And that’s in regard to content. Unless it’s an original, any licensed content comes and goes.
