As we have seen with the duel with Rebecca, surrendering is a thing in DM. Yami could just surrender instead of playing Seal of Orichalcos, admitting that Rafael’s philosophy was correct, and rip up the card. It would still count as a loss, but nothing bad would have happened. Rafael was petty honorable, so he would likely accept that.

Than you would know that there is victory in defeat. That’s what I’m talking about. I have a much easier time accepting that in DM’s continuity than Yami losing off-screen to Joey.

I love it when no one reads that Red Supernova Dragon can’t be destroyed by card effects before wasting Lighting Storm.

I guess nobody runs at least 1 copy of Silent Honour Ark.
It can’t be destroyed by your opponent’s effects, but relocating it to act as material is another matter.

For context, the Fandom wiki has a page dedicated to female cards with bad logic to justify this, and uses questionable techniques to determine the sex.

I’m wondering how Inzektor Giga-Cricket counts, partially because it looks like a robot.
Also I looked it up, and Wind-up Honeybee also counts, apparently.

As for Wind-up Honeybee, I’m guessing that they used the logic that it isn’t a drone so female.

Also, I find it fucking hilarious that in most card game manga/anime I’ve seen/read (Vanguard in particular) reading or planning ahead and thinking beyond what’s in your hand/board (also called psy-qualia in Vanguard) is considered straight-up cheating.

I wonder what they’d think of most people who play said games IRL, especially with decks that require more thought or strategy.

Well, I got all the rewards from the Synchro event. Sadly, I can’t dismantle the extra copies of Overmind Archfiend I have for no good reason.

I think it’s meant to be an upgraded version of it, but don’t quote me on that.

Paradox has join Duel Links before Z-one. I get why, but I honestly forgot Paradox existed until now.

They finally made number iC 1000 into an actual card.

We need more elemental chaos support.

Coming back to this, has anyone noticed that ‘planning ahead’ having an actual, legitimate strategy, or having a plan for how you want the game/duel to go is considered bad, or something only the villains/antagonists/anti-heroes do, or is it just me?

I don’t watch/read enough card game anime/manga to be knowledgeable on the subject. My only guess is that they are going to extremes to justify the protagonist being an underdog. As I said before, 5D’s reveled in showing Yusei strategizing in his duels, planning on what to do depending on what he drew. It’s why I consider “it’s here” to be his catchphrase.

IMO, Yusei is the best of the protagonists we’ve gotten so far, manga included.
