Last year was a pretty rough year for Blumhouse, with none of their films hitting $100 million worldwide, one of their films bombing in the box office (“AfrAId”), and three of the four films getting poor reception from critics and audience alike (“Night Swim,” “Imaginary,” and “AfrAId”). Only “Speak No Evil” did reasonably well in terms of reception and box office gross.
Their woes will continue to this year, as “Wolf Man” is projected to make less than “Night Swim”‘s opening weekend gross ($11.8 million) and may come out on 3rd place during the weekend. Blumhouse will have two original movies coming on March and April–“The Woman in the Yard” and “Drop,” respectively, and three sequels of their previous films: “M3GAN 2.0,” “The Black Phone 2,” and “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.” Here’s hoping the rest of their films will do better this year.
Edit: Wow. Looks like Universal will be distributing all six of Blumhouse’s films this year. In fact, the first and last film Universal is or will be distributing this year are all made by Blumhouse.

Been a while since I mentioned hype comic moments. And yeah, War of the Realms had one I keep thinking back to.
I love comics.

I just found out that Delaware has a river called Murderkill, and it branches off into a Whorekill and Broadkill streams, and they all flow from Slaughter Beach.
Can, can we just allow Delaware to choose the names for everything ever?

In honor of David Lynch, any movies or tv shows I should get into from him?

“Sonic 4”’s release date is March 19th, 2027. I’m not sure if that’s a good idea since that is one week before the “Godzilla x Kong” sequel comes out. There’s going to be an audience overlap between these two films.

The Toxic Avenger reboot staring Peter Dinklage will finally be releasing later this year, after years stuck on the shelf.
It will also be the unrated version too.

Box office numbers this weekend + MLK Jr. Day:
- Mufasa: The Lion King- $12.06 million domestic (-15%); $15.43 million domestic 4-day weekend; $209.7 million domestic overall; $594.5 million worldwide
- One of Them Days- $11.81 million domestic (NEW); $14.1 million domestic 4-day weekend
- Wolf Man- $10.9 million domestic (NEW); $12.3 million domestic 4-day weekend; $17.1 million worldwide
- Sonic the Hedgehog 3- $8.60 million domestic (-24%); $11.06 million domestic 4-day weekend; $219 million domestic overall; $422.5 million worldwide
- Den of Thieves 2: Pantera- $6.60 million domestic (-56%); $7.65 million domestic 4-day weekend; $27.2 million domestic overall; $32.5 million worldwide
- Moana 2- $6.00 million domestic (-8%); $7.78 million domestic 4-day weekend; $444.5 million domestic overall; $1.012 billion worldwide
- Nosferatu- $4.15 million domestic (-40%); $4.90 million domestic 4-day weekend; $90 million domestic overall; $156.3 million worldwide
- A Complete Unknown- $3.75 million domestic (-27%); $4.53 million domestic 4-day weekend; $58.3 million domestic overall; $62.3 million worldwide
-“Mufasa” took the crown this weekend by outgrossing the newly released movies. It only dropped by 15% from last weekend, which is the 2nd fewest drop among the movies that are currently playing in theaters. It also made an additional $52 million worldwide from last week; $49 million if you don’t count MLK Jr. Day. The movie’s box office performance is quite impressive.
-Keke Palmer and SZA led their way to the #2 spot this weekend with “One of Them Days.” Against a budget of $15 million, it should make a decent amount of money and would turn into a decent profit for Sony.
-All howl and no bite. “Wolf Man” came into 3rd place by making a disappointing $12.3 million domestic and $17.1 million worldwide on its opening weekend. Against a budget of $25 million, I think this film has a candidate of being the first flop of the year due to bad reception and weak opening weekend numbers. The film was originally projected to make around $17-20 million domestic on its opening 4-day weekend before the reviews came out.
-“Sonic 3” continues to impress during weekends by making $8.6 million domestic on its 5th weekend, which was a 24% drop from the previous weekend. It has made more than “Sonic 2”’s worldwide gross of $405 million. Its next goal is to surpass “Warcraft (2016)”’s worldwide gross of $439 million this weekend.
-“Den of Thieves 2” took a hit this weekend thanks to “Mufasa,” “Sonic 3,” and the two newly released films. Its predecessor only dropped 43% from the opening weekend, though that film dropped from the #3 to the #7 spot, losing to “The Post” and “The Greatest Showman.” I think it should still do fine against a budget of $40 million.
-“Moana 2” had the fewest drop among the movies that are currently playing in theaters. It also reached the $1 billion worldwide overall mark and is the 56th film to do so.
-“Nosferatu” took a hit this weekend thanks to “Wolf Man,” but I think it should bounce back next weekend thanks to the film getting a much stronger reception than “Wolf Man.”
-“A Complete Unknown” is still doing pretty good.
