I have no idea the extremely 2d looking CGI just begs the question why is it live action However I don’t think being animated would make much of a difference And sitting what the animated movies are like

As long as the movie stays focussed on Tom and Jerry and not the humans,it could turn out okay. I’m not sure they could carry a movie though,maybe the bulldog,Droopy and that one little mouse in the diaper could be there.

I read that the plot is that Jerry moved into a New York hotel And Home is hired to catch him and their Writing fighting is causing problems for a wedding the hotel it’s holding.  
To be honest that Does sound like a would make a decent Tom and jerry short but not so sure about a movie though.

I hope the upcoming Tom and Jerry movie has a reference to this:

Kong’s a roid monster and Pinstripe is a trigger happy gunman, they’d be more usable than Crash in that regard.
