I was mostly referring to modding/map making stuff, people will tell you to set X flag under Y value to trigger under condition Z, without referring to any of them by their ingame names or telling you where to find them,

Today just shows that a little error in communication can throw a guy all over the place on a delivery job…

Bears wandering onto school grounds is apparently something that happens often enough in Alaska. I’ve heard stories from someone that talked about how they would go on lockdown many times because of a bear, and it didn’t turn into a sleepover because a hunter managed to take it out.

and how much bears are they talking about for that even to be a serious consideration?

Even still, the number of bear related deaths in the US is less than 1 per year, as it tends to be “go for several years without deaths” then a random hunter gets mauled.
 
Almost all the deaths have been from people out in the wilderness, and most bear encounters end with the bear simply leaving the area. They rarely directly go after humans.

The deaths may be <1 per year, but the danger is still there. The reason it’s low is because thank God most people know how to take percautions and play it safe when dealing with bears.

That’s like saying I need put my house on shock-absorbers in Virginia to protect from the 1 earthquake every 6-8 years we have here that barely even registers. Sometimes you can overprepare, and cost yourself in collateral.
